If it’s your first time visiting Japan, this is the rail pass for you. With the Hokuriku Arch Pass you can travel between Tokyo and Osaka, including popular stops such as Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Kanazawa and many more. You will be able to travel aboard all trains throughout the Hokuriku Arch Pass area including the Hokuriku Shinkansen for 7 consecutive travel days.

  • Valid for 7 consecutive travel days.
  • Unlimited travel throughout the HOKURIKU ARCH PASS area including the Hokuriku Shinkansen.
  • Available in Adult or Child rates in Ordinary Class.
Where can the pass be used?
  • Narita Express limited express train in the free usage area
  • The Tokyo Monorail between Haneda Airport Terminal 2 and Hamamatsucho
  • The Hokuriku Shinkansen between Tokyo and Kanazawa
  • Thunderbird limited express between Kanazawa and Osaka
  • The Haruka limited express (non-reserved seats) between Shin-Osaka/Kyoto and Kansai-airport
  • JR lines in the Tokyo Metropolitan District, JR lines in the Keihanshin area (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and Nara)
  • The Etsumi-Hoku Line, Nanao Line, Himi Line, Johana Line, Takayama Main Line (between Toyama and Inotani) Oito Line (between Itoigawa and Minami-Otari)
  • IR Ishikawa Railway, Ainokaze Toyama Railway, and Noto Railway.

Anyone who possesses a passport issued by a country other than Japan and enters Japan with the status of Temporary Visitor.

Types & Validities

7 consecutive days

From the date of purchase, the pass voucher must be exchanged in Japan within 3 months. On the date of exchange in Japan, the user will need to select a start date within 1 month from that date. The user then has 7 consecutive days to use their pass as of the start date.

Unlimited rides within the pass area on ordinary car reserved seating on local (including special rapid and rapid), express, and limited express trains on all lines of the Hokuetsu Shinkansen (between Tokyo and Kanazawa stations), JR East, JR West, Tokyo Monorail, and Noto Tetsudo (between Nanao and Wakuraonsen stations).


  • The pass can also be used for ordinary car reserved seating on the Haruka limited express train.
  • The pass can also be used on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway (between Toyama and Takaoka stations) and IR Ishikawa Railway (between Kanazawa and Tsubata stations) trains only if used for passing through. (an additional charge is application if you wish to use the Ainokaze Liner rapid train)

How to Exchange your E-ticket
HOKURIKU ARCH PASS has to be collected at one of exchange offices in Japan within 3 months from the travel date in the PNR. Passenger will need to have a valid paper or e-ticket and a valid passport. See the Exchange locations on the Hokuriku Arch Pass Website.
